These words were said by the president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli, during his speech at the opening ceremony of the international conference on "Physiology of vision and occupational pathologies: fundamental and applied aspects" and the VI Congress of Azerbaijan Physiologists. Recalling that 2023 was declared by President Ilham Aliyev as the "Year of Heydar Aliyev", academician Isa Habibbeyli said that a series of events dedicated to the outstanding statesman, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, were held throughout the year in our country and abroad, as well as in ANAS, and these events had a great scientific and cultural impact. He said that it is even more memorable with the events and fateful issues of Azerbaijan.

"The days of the conference coincide with the days of rare events in the centuries-old history of Azerbaijan," said the speaker, emphasizing that due to the principled position and diplomatic activity of President Ilham Aliyev, historical justice won and the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan were fully restored. He said that today our tricolor State Flag is flying proudly in Karabakh and everywhere in our country.

The head of ANAS emphasized that the most important life principle in the family of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was service and loyalty to the people and the nation. He noted that the First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva also implements the Great Leader's ideas with great perseverance and skill, leads large-scale projects in social, social and cultural fields in our country, guided by the ideals of humanism and humanitarianism.

Academician Isa Habibbayli said that the events held within the framework of the 100th anniversaries of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and Academician Zarifa Aliyeva fully revealed the social and political essence of the great statehood victories won under the leadership of the head of state, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
