On October 18, 2023, an event related to the Independence Day was held in the assembly hall of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS. Firstly, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, and the memory of the sons of the Motherland, who were martyred for the territorial integrity of the Republic, was commemorated with a minute's silence.

The Director of the Center, docent Yusif Shukurlu, who opened the event with an introductory speech, greeted the event participants and congratulated them on the "Day of Independence Restoration". He emphasized that today is celebrated as one of the significant events in our history. In his speech, the speaker drew attention to the visionary policy of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and the purposeful activities of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev to strengthen our independence as a continuation of this policy.

Huseyn Mustafabayli, head of the "Landscape Studies" department, said in his speech that the restoration of Azerbaijan's state independence was possible as a result of historical conditions, as well as the desire for independence and the struggle for freedom of the Azerbaijani people.

1. Rahimov, head of the "Ecological Geography" department, spoke about the struggle for independence of Azerbaijan. He spoke about the achievements of our science, education and culture during the independence of Azerbaijan as a result of the great leader's visionary policy.
