Director of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS, Ph.D. on physics, docent Yusif Şukurlu and his co-author Professor Tokay Huseynov’s article on "Increased Morbidity and Its Possible Link to Impaired Selenium Status" was published in English "Selenium and Human Health" book included in the Web of Science International Elmmetric Database.

The article examines the latest information on the main differences in the chemical properties of selenium proteins and their sulfur analogues, selenium proteins and their functions, accumulation, the relationship between Se and hemoglobin, Selenium in gerontology, Selenium and iodine deficiency conditions, Se and immunity, Selenium as an antioxidant in nitrite poisoning . Also, the results of scientific research on natural silk fibroin, its being one of the important factors for human health, if selenium mixed inorganic substances are added to the food of mulberry silkworm, selenium atoms create additional sulfur chains in fibroin micromolecules have been reflected.
