A meeting dedicated to the activities of Sheki Regional Scientific Center was held at the Presidium of ANAS, chaired by the President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli.

Speaking at the meeting, academician Isa Habibbeyli stated that supporting scientific activities in the regions and developing the scientific potential of scholars are among the Academy's priority areas, noting that this represents a contribution by Azerbaijani science to the overall socio-economic progress of the regions. Academician Isa Habibbeyli emphasized that key tasks ahead include modernizing the operations of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center—which possesses a rich, long-standing scientific tradition—to align with contemporary challenges; enhancing the quality of research in the humanities and social sciences; making more effective use of the region's scientific potential; and expanding research in priority areas. Academician Isa Habibbayli emphasized the importance of implementing reforms at the Sheki Regional Scientific Center—as is the case across all ANAS scientific research institutions—that align with modern challenges and the Academy's renewal phase; he highlighted the necessity of actively involving young scientists in research activities, expanding cooperation with higher education institutions and other scientific bodies, and developing international scientific ties. The head of ANAS noted that the study of the Sheki-Zaqatala economic region’s rich historical-cultural heritage, history, literature, archaeology, folklore, humor, natural resources, and biodiversity must remain a priority in the Scientific Center's activities.

Subsequently, the director of Sheki Regional Scientific Center, Doctor of Philological Sciences and docent Kamil Adishirinov, stated that scientific research regarding the region's history, archaeology, ethnography, folklore, biodiversity, and natural resources is ongoing at the center. He spoke in detail about the work accomplished, scientific results achieved, and projects implemented, as well as the tasks ahead, and outlined the measures planned to further improve the center's operations.

Finally, the future directions of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center, its priority tasks, and planned measures were discussed, and relevant instructions and recommendations were issued.

Sarkhan Khavari, head of the Science and Education department of the ANAS Presidium Administration (Doctor of Philological Sciences); Aynur Mahmud, head of the Human Resources department (PhD in Philology); and Agahuseyn Shukurov, head of the Public Relations, Press, and Information department (PhD in Philology), also spoke at the meeting, sharing their views and observations.
