On June 10, 2026, a training session on "Personal protective equipment and rules for their use" was held in Sheki Regional Scientific Center in accordance with the 2026 work plan of the Civil Defense Headquarters.
The training session was organized with the support of the Accident and Rescue Battalion of the Civil Defense Troops of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan located in Sheki.
Opening the training session, the director of Sheki RSC, doctor of philogical sciences, docent Kamil Adishirinov noted that the main goal of the event was to increase the knowledge and skills of employees in the field of civil defense, master the rules of behavior in emergency situations, and form the habits of proper use of personal protective equipment, and the floor was given to Yusif Rahimov, Chief of the Civil Defense Headquarters of Sheki RSC.
In his speech, Yusif Rahimov drew attention to the fact that despite the rapid development of scientific and technical progress in the globalized world, nuclear danger still remains one of the urgent problems for humanity. He noted that political and military tensions in various regions, the expansion of the use of nuclear technologies, as well as the risks of accidents associated with radiation, necessitate the education of society in this area.
Then, a video clip was shown on the possible effects of nuclear and radiation dangers on human health and the environment, the rules of conduct in such cases, the importance of personal protective equipment and methods of their correct use.
The training was attended by military personnel of the Accident and Rescue Battalion of the Civil Defense Troops of the Ministry of Emergency Situations - Senior Lieutenant Samir Abdulov, Ensign Hummet Mammadov and Sergeant Kenan Islamov, who has served beyond the term.
The representative of the institution, Senior Lieutenant Samir Abdulov, introduced the audience to new generation radiation protection equipment and complex first aid kits, and the rules for the use of personal protective equipment were visually demonstrated.
Then, questions of interest to the participants were answered and practical recommendations were presented to increase emergency preparedness.
