Employees of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS participated in the Republican Scientific Conference on the topic “Stages of historical development of Azerbaijani urban planning and architectural heritage in the example of Ganja” organized by the Institute of Local Studies of the Ganja Branch of ANAS on May 22, 2026.
Employees of Sheki RSC - Head of the Department of Archaeology and Ethnography Elshan Abdurahmanov and employee of the department Habil Khalilov participated in the conference with a joint article entitled “Mosques of Sheki of the 18th century”.
Elshan Abdurahmanov delivered a report and provided detailed information about the rich architectural heritage of Sheki, the historical and cultural significance of its religious monuments and their place in the architectural traditions of Azerbaijan.
The report particularly emphasized the architectural features, decorative elements, role in the urban planning structure and the importance of the mosques built in Sheki in the 18th century in terms of preserving the national and cultural heritage. It was noted that these monuments have important scientific and cultural value in terms of studying the historical architectural traditions of Azerbaijan and passing them on to future generations.
At the end, the employees of Sheki RSC who participated in the conference were awarded certificates.
