On May 8, 2026, a scientific-practical conference on the topic "Heydar Aliyev: the guarantor of the people's salvation" was held in Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS, dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The employees of Sheki RSC, the students of Sheki branch of ASPU participated in the conference.

The State Anthem of the Azerbaijan Republic was sounded in the event.

The memory of our National Leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as son of our land who gave their lives for territorial integrity of our motherland was commemorated in a minute of silence.

The acting director of Scientific Center, doctor of philology Kamil Adishirinov opened the meeting and spoke about the importance of the conference. In his speech, he emphasized the exceptional role of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in strengthening the Azerbaijani statehood and forming a modern development strategy, and wished success to the work of the conference.

The floor was given to the head of the Department of History and Epigraphy, Ph.D. in history Rahim Hasanov.

In his report entitled “Heydar Aliyev: An Example of Visionary Leadership in the Soviet Era,” he noted that historical figures are nurtured by time, but historical figures, in turn, change the course of history by directing it. The speaker emphasized that Heydar Aliyev was an outstanding statesman who was distinguished by his visionary policy in the development and formation of the management system of Azerbaijan during the Soviet era and changed the course of history.

He also noted that Heydar Aliyev had extensive organizational skills, implemented a purposeful policy in the direction of the correct selection and formation of personnel, and was able to create an effective team in state administration by uniting people around him. These characteristics played an important role in his formation as a great political leader.

The speaker drew attention to the fact that the nationalization of security agencies in Azerbaijan and the strengthening of national personnel potential are one of the important directions of Heydar Aliyev's statehood strategy. These steps were evaluated as a vivid example of the Great Leader's visionary leadership serving the ideas of state independence.

At the end of the speech, the speaker noted that Heydar Aliyev's legacy is relevant for the modern era and that his statehood experience is an important source for scientific research.

Then, Elchin Valiyev, a scientific researcher at the department of History and Epigraphy, delivered a report on the topic "Heydar Aliyev is the founder of the independent Azerbaijani state."

In his speech, the speaker spoke about Heydar Aliyev's exceptional services in the process of forming and strengthening Azerbaijani statehood. He said that the political activity of the Great Leader created conditions for the establishment of state administration in the country on modern foundations, ensuring socio-political stability, and formulating a national development strategy.

Elchin Valiyev emphasized that the ideological and practical foundations of the reforms carried out during the years of independence are based on Heydar Aliyev's concept of statehood. Under his leadership, Azerbaijan strengthened its position in the international community and embarked on the path of development as a sovereign state.

The speaker noted that Heydar Aliyev's rich heritage remains an important source of ideas in the development of Azerbaijani statehood today.

In his report titled "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani Literature", Tural Adishirinov, a scientific researcher at the Department of Literary and Cultural Environment and Folklore, spoke about the attention and care shown by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the development of Azerbaijani literature. He noted that the cultural and literary policy of the Great Leader is of great importance in terms of preserving the national literary heritage, promoting classical and modern literary examples, and supporting the creativity of writers and poets.

The speaker also emphasized that the value that Heydar Aliyev attached to culture played an important role in preserving national identity and educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism.

At the end, a video clip was shown reflecting Heydar Aliyev's rich statehood activities and historical contributions to the development and strengthening of the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
