On April 16, 2026, employees, graduate students and students of the Department of Physics and Ecology of the Faculty of Engineering of Mingachevir State University participated in the scientific research process held in Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS.

The head of the department, PhD in physics, docent Tarana Yusibova, PhD in biology Vusala Mustafayeva, senior lecturer Rayiha Agayeva, as well as other employees of the department, graduate students and students took part in the research process.

As part of the research, hydrogeochemical analyses of surface waters were visually demonstrated to students at the Departments of Ecological Biophysics and Plant Biochemistry. The process of determining indicators such as the composition of anions and cations in surface waters, turbidity and hardness was explained and practically demonstrated by junior research worker Vafa Mammadli.

In accordance with the direction of the Department of Ecological Biophysics, the relevance, purpose and effectiveness of the research conducted by the head of the department, PhD in Agriculture Ilgar Ismayilov and Scientific Secretary Vafa Atayeva on the topic of “Environmental protection and research and efficient use of natural resources, including biodiversity” were explained in detail to the students.

At the same time, the head of the department of Plant Biochemistry Ayshan Salmanova provided information to the participants about the research conducted in the direction of “Research, protection, restoration, reproduction and efficient use of genetic resources of wild plants in the regions in their natural habitats” under her leadership.

Vafa Atayeva and Ayshan Salmanova also actively participated in the integration of scientific and educational processes as teachers of Mingachevir State University, providing information on the application of the research conducted in the educational process and its importance for students.

Within the framework of the practical process, the department employees - senior laboratory assistant Maryam Mikayilli and junior research assistant Fidan Babayeva - visually demonstrated the products of the mulberry silkworm, including methods for obtaining silk fiber.

It should be noted that this practical process is of particular importance in terms of strengthening students' knowledge, developing their scientific and research skills, and practical application of theoretical knowledge.
