On February 27, 2026, an event was held in the assembly hall of Sheki RSC on the occasion of World Civil Defense Day. Along with the employees of Sheki RSC, officers of the Rescue Battalion No. N of the Civil Defense Troops of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan E. Abdullayev and S. Aliyev, located in Sheki, participated in the event.

At the beginning of the event, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

The dear memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, our compatriots who died for the freedom and territorial integrity of our homeland, as well as the victims of the Khojaly tragedy, was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Opening the event, the Chief of the Civil Defense Headquarters of Sheki RSC Yusif Rahimov congratulated the participants of the event on the occasion of World Civil Defense Day, spoke about the importance of civil defense preparation, and about the fact that World Civil Defense Day is an international historical day. He noted that International Civil Defense Day is dedicated to a specific problem every year. The International Civil Protection Organization has adopted a decision to approve the theme of 2026 as “Managing Environmental Risks for a Sustainable and Stable Future”, and the floor was given to Senior Lieutenant Javidan Ahmadli, an officer of the Civil Protection Troops of the Ministry of Emergency Situations located in Sheki, to deliver a report on this. In his speech, Javidan Ahmadli spoke about the direction of activity and combat readiness of the Civil Protection Troops, emphasizing the close cooperation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations with the International Civil Protection Organization. He noted that the main task of the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is the protection of the population and territories, protection from emergencies and fires, prevention of emergencies and elimination of their consequences, and the formation of a safe society system. The speaker added that in recent years, the civil defense system has been provided by the President of the country, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, at the level of modern requirements, and in the future, the personnel of the Civil Defense Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will fulfill the task set by the country's leadership with higher quality, efficiency and loyalty.

Then, discussions were held on the topic, and the participants' questions were answered. Then, video clips prepared on the activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were shown.

At the end of the event, the participants got acquainted with the materials displayed in the Civil Defense training room.
