Each year in February 21 it is celebrated as the International Mother Tongue Day all over the world that declared by UNESCO. The main purpose of this day is to protect language diversity, to support the development of mother tongue and to pay attention to the languages which are in danger to disappear.          

The Azerbaijani language is one of the magnificent languages that preserved its existence. Although our people have faced political, social and cultural difficulties in different periods of history, our native language has emerged victorious from all these trials. Although it has been exposed to foreign influences from time to time, it has not lost its richness, harmony and expressive power.

The Azerbaijani language is the bearer of the national identity, spiritual values and cultural heritage of our people. Today, the duty of each of us is to love the Azerbaijani language, protect it, and pass it on to future generations in a correct and pure manner.

May our native language always live, develop and forever preserve its existence as a solid foundation of our national unity!
