The meeting highly appreciated the activities of scientists distinguished for their contributions to the development of Azerbaijani science.

At the event, the Director of Shaki Regional Scientific Center, PhD in Physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu, who was awarded by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev "On Awarding Persons with Merits in the Development of Azerbaijani Science", was awarded the "Progress" medal. Presenting the award, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, emphasized the significant contributions of Yusif Shukurlu to the development of science in the region through his scientific-organizational and effective leadership activities.

Noting that this award is a clear example of the attention and care shown to the work of scientists serving the development of science in the country, Academician Isa Habibbeyli wished the Center new successes in its future scientific and scientific-organizational activities.

Also at the meeting, Irada Yusifova, PhD in Philology, was approved as the Head of the Literary-Cultural Environment and Folklore Department of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS, Rahim Hasanov, PhD in History, was approved as the Head of the History and Epigraphy Department of Sheki RSC, and Elshan Abdurahmanov, PhD in History, was approved as the Head of the Archaeology and Ethnography Department of Sheki RSC.
