An event dedicated to the National Revival Day was held at Sheki Regional Scientific Center

On November 17, 2025, an event was organized at Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS on the occasion of the National Revival Day.

The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sung, and the dear memory of our martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our lands was commemorated with respect.

Opening the event, director of Sheki RSC, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu spoke about the historical and socio-political significance of the National Revival Day. He noted that November 17 is the embodiment of the freedom struggle of the Azerbaijani people, and that this day is an important stage in the formation of the modern statehood idea of our country. Yusif Shukurlu said that the process of national awakening demonstrates both the spiritual unity of our people and their determination for independence. He emphasized that this significant day is of particular importance in terms of strengthening national consciousness in the younger generation and wished success to the event.

Speaking at the event, Elchin Valiyev, a research fellow at the department of History and Epigraphy, touched upon the historical stages leading to the National Revival Day, noting that since 1988, the people's love of freedom, the determination to fight for national identity, the awakening and social solidarity created by the square movement have laid the foundation for a new era in the history of Azerbaijan. Elchin Valiyev said that the process of national revival based on the will of the people has gained real political content with the return to power of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and the traditions of statehood have been systematically restored. He emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev has continued this strategic line in accordance with modern challenges and consistently, further strengthening the state independence of Azerbaijan and raising our country to the level of a leading state in the region.
