On October 28, 2025, the next Scientific Council meeting was held at Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS.
The meeting was attended by 13 members of the Scientific Council, heads of departments and scientific workers.
Opening the meeting, the director of Sheki RSC, PhD in Physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu introduced the participants to the issues on the agenda and wished success to the work of the meeting.
The agenda was put to a vote.
The first item on the agenda was the information on the decisions No. 18/1 "On the progress of preparations for the 80th anniversary of ANAS and the tasks ahead", No. 18/2 of the Presidium of ANAS dated October 20, 2025 "On the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Fatali Khan Khoyski" Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of Sheki RSC, PhD, docent Kamil Adishirinov conveyed. He noted that, in accordance with the relevant orders of the President of the country, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the decisions of ANAS arising from these orders, a series of events - seminars, scientific-practical conferences, round tables have already been held on the initiative and organization of the Sheki RSC on the anniversaries of the enlightener poet Seyid Azim Shirvani, the outstanding composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli, the People's Poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzade, and the brilliant thinker Suleyman Sani Akhundov, a scientific seminar on the 150th anniversary of the great public and political figure Fatali Khan Khoyski is planned for December 2025 and the speakers have been determined.
The associate professor also noted that various conferences, round tables, seminars, and exhibitions have been organized on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of ANAS by the organization of the Sheki RSC.
The second item on the agenda was "On the submission of works for the State Prizes for 2026 to the State Prize Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan in science, technology, architecture, culture and literature" by the Scientific Secretary of Sheki RSC Vafa Atayeva, regarding the decision No. 18/4 of the Presidium of ANAS dated October 20, 2025.
She also introduced the participants to the regulations on the "Aziz Sancar Honorary Diploma of ANAS", approved by the decision No. 15/10 of the Presidium of ANAS dated July 7, 2025.
The Scientific Council decided to establish a commission that will ensure the quality of employees, scientific works, projects and scientific works to be submitted for the State Prize and the Aziz Sancar Honorary Diploma. According to the decision, the commission consisting of 5 people, headed by Director Yusif Shukurlu, will start its work in early 2026.
The participants of the Scientific Council were introduced to the decision of the Presidium of ANAS No. 18/3 dated October 20, 2025, No. 18/3 on the implementation of the Action Plan by ANAS in connection with the celebration of the 5th anniversary of Victory Day on November 8, 2025, by the Head of the Public Relations Department of Sheki RSC Reyhan Manafova. She noted that in connection with the implementation of the decision, it is planned to organize a meeting with war participants and families of martyrs, as well as a scientific discussion platform at Sheki RSC on November 6, 2025, and to cover information about these events in the mass media, as well as to ensure the participation of scientists and specialists conducting research on Victory Day in the mass media.
Then, elections were held for the positions of heads and scientific workers of the departments of History and Epigraphy, Literary and Cultural Environment and Folklore of Sheki RSC.
According to the results of the election, Dr. Rahim Hasanov was elected as the head of the Department of History and Epigraphy, PhD in history Akif Mammadli and PhD in philosophy Aladdin Sultanov were elected as senior scientific workers of the department, Elchin Valiyev as a scientific worker of the department, Irada Yusifova as the head of the Department of Literary and Cultural Environment and Folklore, and Tarana Abdullayeva and Tural Adishirinov as scientific workers of the department.
The members of the Scientific Council congratulated the elected employees and wished them success in their scientific activities.
