The dear memory of Bakhtiyar Vahabzade and the sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the integrity and sovereignty of our lands were commemorated with a minute of silence.
Opening the event, the head of the Bakhtiyar Vahabzade House Museum, Elshan Zakariyyabeyli, greeted the guests and wished success to the event.
Reyhan Manafova, Head of the Public Relations Department of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center, stated that the main goal of the event was to analyze and discuss the socio-political thought, artistic reflection of national identity and patriotic feelings of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani literature, poet, publicist, prose writer, and playwright, based on his work, to examine the impact of all this on Azerbaijani society and the formation of national thought, and to introduce the poet's ideas. The floor was given to the Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of Sheki RSC, Doctor of Philology, docent Kamil Adishirinov.
Kamil Adishirinov said that Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh was not only a poet, but also one of the intellectuals who actively participated in the socio-political processes of his time and expressed sharp opinions, and emphasized that his works acted as a strong expression of the national spirit, desires for freedom, and civic position.
He noted that the themes of national identity, freedom, language and homeland, which constitute the main line of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh's creativity, united in 'Gulustan' and turned into a patriotic anthem calling the people to struggle, thus the poet managed to become the voice of conscience of the nation not only with words, but also with his position.
Habil Khalilov, an employee of the Archaeology and Ethnography Department of Sheki RSC, gave a detailed commentary on Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh's religious views. He stated that, the poet's religious views are not directly expressed in theological terms, but in the context of social-moral and national thought, approaching religion from the prism of spiritual foundations, he evaluated it as the spiritual foundation of the nation, an integral part of culture and a value that purifies a person.
The speaker brought to our attention that we see the expression that Vahabzadeh sees it as a foundation living in the identity, history and soul of the people rather than a religious ideology, and that he is in a human and spiritual search, using concepts such as God, fate, morality and conscience in his poems.
Habil Khalilov noted that Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh always respected the spiritual and moral principles of traditional Islam and demonstrated an intellectual position that viewed religion as a reflection of the spiritual world of the nation.
Finally, Zeynab Gaffarova, the director of the Naringala Folklore House, made a speech and expressed her gratitude to the director of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center, PhD in Physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu and his employees, and the director of the Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh House Museum, Elshan Zakariyyabeyli.
