On September 30, 2025, the next Scientific Council meeting of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS was held.

The meeting was attended by 13 members of the Scientific Council and scientific workers.

The Director of Sheki Regional Scientific Center, PhD in physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu opened the meeting and introduced the participants to the issues on the agenda, which were put to a vote and adopted.

Then the Director brought to the attention of the participants the decision No. 16/4 of the Presidium of ANAS dated September 10, 2025, regarding the implementation of the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the celebration of the 120th anniversary of Academician Yusif Mammadaliyev" dated July 05, 2025. He noted that the celebration of the anniversary of Academician Yusif Mammadaliyev, who is the closest candidate for the Nobel Prize in the history of Azerbaijani science, is the result of President Ilham Aliyev's care and attention to the development of science.

The Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Sheki Regional Scientific Center, Tural Adishirinov, introduced the participants to the "Decision of the Presidium of ANAS dated September 10, 2025 on the establishment of the "Youth Academy" on the basis of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ANAS". He noted that according to the decision, it is envisaged to create a composition consisting of young people up to the age of 35, and the number of such young people in Sheki RSC is 12 people. He noted that the necessary work will be done to ensure the productive scientific activity of young people in the Youth Academy to be organized within the Council.

Then, the Head of the Document Work Department, Sevinj Huseynova, announced the relevant decision of the Presidium of ANAS "On holding an article competition for young researchers on the topic "Opportunities for using artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the field of humanitarian and social sciences" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of ANAS" and stated that, according to the terms of the competition, young people under the age of 35 working at ANAS can participate in the competition.

The Scientific Council decided to provide support to Sheki RSC youth in order to ensure their participation in the competition by the Youth Academy.

Head of the Electronic Services Department Namig Abdurahmanov brought to attention the relevant decision of the Presidium of ANAS on renaming the Electronic Academy Department of ANAS to the "Digital Academy, Artificial Intelligence and Electronic Services" Department. The Scientific Council decided to replace the name of the "Electronic Services" Department with the name of the "Artificial Intelligence and Electronic Services" Department.

Current issue - Elections were held for the leading positions of the departments of Ecological Biophysics, Biochemistry of Plants, Mulberry Silkworm Selection, and Landscape Science.

13 members of the Scientific Council participated in the voting. According to the results of the voting, candidate of sciences Ismayilov Ilgar Rafig oglu of the Ecological Biophysics Department, Salmanova Ayshan Kamil gizi of the Plant Biochemistry Department, associate professor Bakirov Gudurat Mammad oglu of the Mulberry Silkworm Selection Department, and Mustafabeyli Huseyn Lutvali of the Geological Sciences Department son was elected as the head of the Department of Landscape Studies.
