September 27 Memorial Day was celebrated at Sheki Regional Scientific Center

On September 26, 2025, an event was held at Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS on September 27th Memorial Day.

The memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the sons of the Motherland who gave their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our lands were commemorated with respect.

The director of the Sheki RSC, PhD  in physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu noted that the glorious victory of the Azerbaijani people in the Second Karabakh War was recorded in world history. He emphasized that with the determination of the people and the resolute leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani soldier became a true example of heroism, courage, bravery, and bravery in the 44-day Patriotic War.

Head of the Department of Archaeology and Ethnography Elshan Abdurahmanov said that the history of Azerbaijan has been remembered so far with a number of historical events, and commented on the essence of historical events such as the victory achieved at the cost of the lives and blood of our heroic sons in the 44-day Patriotic War, local military operations and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan as a result of the anti-terrorist operation. He emphasized that the foundation of our victorious history, which we proudly talk about everywhere today, was laid by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, and brought to attention that all this is the result of the policy implemented under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, a worthy successor to the political course of the National Leader.

Head of the Department of Landscape Studies, PhD in Geology Huseyn Mustafabeyli noted that Azerbaijan regained its pride by returning its lands that had been occupied for 30 years in the 44-day Patriotic War. He highly appreciated the unity of Azerbaijanis of the world for a common cause in the Second Karabakh War and said that it proved the greatness of the Azerbaijani people to the world.

Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of Sheki RSC, PhD in philology, docent  Kamil Adishirinov spoke about the fact that in the struggle for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, not only our soldiers and officers who showed heroism on the front line, but also our civilians working in the rear line, showed great determination and will, united like a fist around the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and joined the struggle.

Head of the Department of Plant Biodiversity and Gene Fund, Doctor of Biological Sciences Farhad Azizov said that we will never forget that the victory achieved in the just war for the integrity of Azerbaijan was won at the cost of the blood of our martyrs.

Chief of the Civil Defense Headquarters of Sheki RSC Yusif Rahimov expressed that the Patriotic War is a source of pride for our people. He noted that after the historical victory, development and reconstruction work is being carried out in our lands liberated from occupation, and new "smart village" and "smart city" projects are being implemented to improve the social welfare of our people and the prosperity of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Yusif Rahimov expressed his confidence that the Azerbaijani people will live in peace and security from now on.

Senior Researcher of the Department of History and Epigraphy, Doctor of Philosophy in History Akif Mammadli called the Second Karabakh War the return of the nation to itself and said that it was the victory of the joint struggle of the "state and the people". He drew attention to the fact that the Patriotic War, in which no civilian objects or citizens were fired upon by the Azerbaijani army, demonstrated the slogan of "humanistic war" to the world.

Qafqaz Agabalayev said that the Azerbaijani people have always highly appreciated the valor of their fighting sons and daughters, respected the souls of all our martyrs, and held their memory high, and prayed to God for mercy on our martyrs.
