On September 24, 2025, a scientific-practical conference on the topic "Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh as one of the geniuses of poetry" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the People's Poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh was held, organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS.

Opening the event, the director of Sheki REM, PhDin physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu, greeted the participants and noted that, in accordance with the relevant Order of President Ilham Aliyev, the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the People's Poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh is not only a scientific-literary event, but also a historical event with socio-political and ideological content.

He noted that Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh is a great thinker who has made exceptional contributions to the history of artistic and social thought in promoting the ideas of national freedom and instilling a sense of loyalty to the ideology of independence.

Yusif Shukurlu emphasized that the poet has a rich literary heritage and drew attention to the fact that he addressed almost all topics in his work. He spoke about the important role of the poet's poem "Gulustan" in the formation of the national generation, recited the original text of the poem, and wished success to the event.

Then the floor was given to Tarana Abdullayeva, head of the Literary and Cultural Environment and Folklore Department. The speaker delivered a report on the topic "Attitude to classical heritage in the work of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh" and noted that the poet evaluated our classical heritage as the foundation of our national identity, benefited from the work of classical artists, created stylistically different and interesting philosophical works, brought new emotions to the classical spirit, in short, exhibited the classical tradition in the thinking of the modern era.

Aygul Khalilova, a research worker at the Department of Archaeology and Ethnography, gave a report on the topic "Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh's prose work". The speaker stated that Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh's prose work consists of journalistic articles, literary-critical writings, journalistic essays, memoirs and stories.

She said that the examples of the story genre, which are a minority in the prose writer's work, have not been widely studied, but despite this, she spoke about the uniqueness of those artistic examples and their expression of rich philosophical thought. The speaker also shared the artistic and aesthetic value and philosophical essence of the stories he involved in the scientific research.

Later, Tural Adishirinov, a research worker at the Department of Literary and Cultural Environment and Folklore, delivered a report on "Nationality in the Creativity of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh". He noted that Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh was an example of conviction and steadfastness in both his literary and social activities. The speaker drew attention to the fact that the poet's personality, creativity, and struggle for national independence were highly appreciated by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and emphasized that the great thinker's struggle for the purity of his native language and his sensitivity to South Azerbaijan played an exceptional role in cleansing the historical memory of the people.

The scientific and practical conference continued with discussions.
