On August 25, 2025, within the framework of the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty", a round table on "Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Problems" was held with the joint organization of Sheki Regional Scientific Center, the "Ruzgar" Ecological Public Union, and the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.

The event was attended by the director of the Institute of Radiation Problems, Prof. Islam Mustafayev, Professor Nurmammad Mammadov, PhD in Physics Amina Mikayılova, research fellow Hafiza Imanova, employee of the Environmental Use Regulation and Environmental Education Sector of the 7th Regional Ecology and Natural Resources Department Parvin Samadov, and employees of Sheki RSC.

The anthem was sung, and the memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the integrity of our lands were commemorated.

Opening the event, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of Sheki RSC, Doctor of Philology, docent Kamil Adishirinov greeted the participants of the event and expressed his gratitude for the joint cooperation in organizing the event.

He noted that the work done in the field of environmental protection in our country is an indicator of the importance attached by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to solving environmental problems.

The associate professor stated that the main goal of holding this educational event is to ensure that people approach nature with greater care in the direction of environmental protection and wished success to the event.

Director of the Institute of Radiation Problems, Prof. Islam Mustafayev, made a report on "Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation".

The speaker provided extensive information on the serious consequences of climate change, which is today's reality, mitigation, greenhouse gases and their distribution by sectors, global emissions and their distribution in Azerbaijan, climate risks and ways out of all these problems.

Then, Hafiza Imanova, a research fellow at the Institute of Radiation Problems, delivered a speech on the topic of "Social Impacts of Climate Change", presenting her thoughts on ecological morality and its role in relation to nature, the role of wars in the ecological crisis, the position of the United States and Developed Countries in ecological processes, new areas emerging with climate change, ecomigration and climate change. She stated that the products of ecological awareness and thinking, such as the Sarhang and Sugovushan reservoirs of Karabakh, the "Toshka" project of Egypt, the Indian example for energy production, as well as the "Smart City" and "Smart Village" concepts, are a turning point in the solution of ecological problems, and she hopes that projects in this direction will be implemented all over the world in the future.

Then, PhD in Physics Amina Mikayilova delivered a speech on the topic of "Constitution and Sovereignty: Ecological Legislation". The speaker brought to the attention of the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan on ecology and environmental protection, the environmental legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, important conventions signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the environmental field, and information on environmental policy documents.

At the event, proposals from scientists of Sheki RSC on restoring ecological balance and eliminating problems were listened to.
