On September 19, 2025, a scientific seminar on the topic "Socio-political activity of Uzeyir Hajibeyli" dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli was held at Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS.

Opening the event, the director of Sheki RSC, PhD in physics, docent  Yusif Shukurlu noted that the celebration of the 140th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyli is an expression of respect for the personality and creativity of the great composer, said that the composer had exceptional services in the formation of national music, and wished success to the work of the seminar.

Then, the head of the Department of History and Epigraphy of Sheki RSC, PhD Rahim Hasanov delivered a report on the topic "Uzeyir Hajibeyli's political ideas - from socialist ideas to independence". He noted that expressing the heroism, patriotism, national pride, and Azerbaijaniness of the people through musical language is an indicator of Uzeyir Hajibeyli's genius, and the composer's opera "Koroglu" is one of his magnificent works that deeply embodies the idea of Azerbaijaniness.

Later, in her speech titled "Folk Creativity and Uzeyir Hajibeyli", Tarana Abdullayeva, head of the Literary and Cultural Environment and Folklore Department of the Sheki REM, spoke about the composer's views on bayati and songs - the importance of collecting them and involving them in scientific research, and using them in many musical works, and drew attention to the extensive use of examples of oral folk literature by Uzeyir Hajibeyli in his journalistic and dramatic works.

At the end, a video clip reflecting the activities of Uzeyir Hajibeyli was shown.
