On June 11, 2025, a round table dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Bakhtiyar Vahabzade was held at Sheki Regional Scientific Center on the topic "Bakhtiyar Vahabzade and the literary environment of Sheki: influences, recommendations".

The intellectuals of Sheki attended at the event.

The memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, Bakhtiyar Vahabzade, and the sons of the Motherland who gave their lives for the integrity of our lands was commemorated.

First, a video clip about the life of Bakhtiyar Vahabzade was shown.

The event was opened by the general director of Sheki RSC, PhD in Physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu greeted the guests and, speaking about the importance of holding such prestigious events, said that the poet's escape from the harsh judgment of censorship in the 60s of the 20th century, thanks to the efforts of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and the signing of an Order by President Ilham Aliyev, a worthy successor to the political school of Heydar Aliyev, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Bakhtiyar Vahabzade, are indicators of the attention and care he shows for literature and scientists.

Then the floor was given to the Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of Sheki RSC, Doctor of Philology, docent Kamil Adishirinov.

Kamil Adishirinov made an extensive report on the topic "The Place and Role of Bakhtiyar Vahabzade in the 20th Century Azerbaijani Poetry".

He noted that although the 20th century was the most contradictory and turbulent period of Azerbaijani literature, Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh was one of the poets who promoted the themes of national consciousness, nation, people, citizen, and national unity in a period when socialist realism was rampant, and there is not a single work in his work that reflects socialism and its heroes.

The speaker emphasized that the poet, inspired by the work of the great Nizami and Fuzuli, created great works, and that he carried the spirit of his ancestors with dignity and passed them on to future generations, basing his speech on the topic "The Unquenchable Light of Azerbaijani Poetry". The speaker spoke about Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh being a prominent representative of philosophical poetry and expressing his philosophical thoughts in simple language in his works on any topic and conveying them to readers. He substantiated his ideas by citing examples from the poet's poems "Let's learn from ourselves", "Fear", "Where is the poet?".

The floor was given to Shafag Khalilova, a teacher of Azerbaijani language and literature at secondary school No. 10 in Sheki city. In her speech titled "Sheki motifs in the work of Bakhtiyar Vahabzade: through the prism of national spirit and patriotism", the speaker noted that the theme of Sheki runs through the poet's work with a red line, spoke about the poetics that filtered through the national spirit, connecting a person to himself, to his roots, and finally, the impact of these works on the upbringing of the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism.

Then discussions were held around the topic.

Aydin Salis oglu Mammadov, the chief fund keeper of the Sabir Rahman House Museum, provided information about the "Sheki Fehlasi" newspaper, where Bakhtiyar Vahabzade's poem "Gulustan" was first published, and the subsequent fate of the newspaper. He noted that excerpts from the poem were published in the July and October 1960 editions of the newspaper.

At the end, the poems dedicated to Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh by the famous poets Gulara Inji and Ahmad Zayzidli were listened to.
