Shaki Regional Scientific Center signed a Memorandum

On April 30, 2025, scientists of the Sericulture Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Head of the Department of Science, Innovations and Education Development Atakulov Tokhtamurod Umarovich, Director of the National Center for Agricultural Business and Innovations Otajonov Shukhrat Igaumimjonovich, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Cotton Breeding, Seed Production and Cultivation Shadman Ergasevich Namazov, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Horticulture, Viticulture and Winemaking named after Academician M. Migzauech Esankulov Alijon Sayidovich, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Vegetable Growing, Melon Plants and Potato Growing Nizamov Rustam Akhrolovich, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Sericulture Seyfeddin Tojiddinovich Veliyev held talks on scientific cooperation met with the Director General of Sheki Regional Scientific Center, PhD in Physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu for the purpose of conducting.

The meeting discussed the current state of sericulture in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, scientific research conducted in the fields of sericulture and mulberry cultivation and their application to production, as well as scientific cooperation in the fields of mulberry sericulture, sericulture and cocoon processing. The main aspects of scientific cooperation for 2025-2029 were also discussed, and a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation in the field of sericulture was signed between Sheki Regional Scientific Center and the Sericulture Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the end, the guests were presented with books published by Sheki RSC and gifts from the guests.

Later, the guests got acquainted with the activities of the Mulberry Silkworm Breeding Department of Sheki RSC, visited cocoon farms, cocoon processing enterprises, and existing and newly established mulberry plantations.
