On April 18, 2025, a scientific-practical conference on the topic "The Musical World of Uzeyir Hajibeyli" was held on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the birth of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, the founder of Azerbaijani national opera art, organized by Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS and supported by I. Nakam Central Library of Sheki-Zagatala Regional Cultural Department.

Students of Baku State University, Sheki branch of Azerbaijani State University of Music and Drama participated in the conference.

The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, and the memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, the sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the integrity of our lands, and the great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli was commemorated.

Opening the event, Dilbar Yagubova, head of the service department of Sheki Central Library named after I. Nakam, expressed gratitude to the organizers of the event, and wished success in the work of the event. He expressed his satisfaction with the celebration of the anniversary of the great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli, who brought Azerbaijani national music to the world level and enriched our national music history with his works, at Central Library named after I. Nakam, and gave the floor to the deputy director for scientific affairs of Sheki RSC, Doctor of Philology, docent Kamil Adishirinov.

In his speech on the topic "The phenomenon of Uzeyir Hajibeyli in the development of literary-cultural, socio-political thought of Azerbaijan", Kamil Adishirinov spoke about the services of Uzeyir Hajibeyli not only in the musical history of Azerbaijan, but also in its literature, press, and socio-political life, drawing attention to the fact that this phenomenal personality was also appreciated and loved by our people as a writer, publicist, journalist, public and political figure. The docent said that the National Leader Heydar Aliyev highly appreciated the services of the composer to the Azerbaijani people. He noted that the Decree on the opening of the composer's house museum, the celebration of September 18, his birthday, as "National Music Day", and the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev on the celebration of the 140th anniversary of the great composer are the most beautiful examples of the value given to the art and personality of Uzeyir Hajibeyli.

Then, Tarana Abdullayeva, head of the Literary and Cultural Environment, Folklore and Ethnography department, gave a report on the topic "The Place and Role of Uzeyir Hajibeyli in the Development of Azerbaijani Music". The young researcher spoke about Uzeyir Hajibeyli's entry into history as both a theorist and a practical creator of Azerbaijani music, and how his activities served the development of our national musical art, the synthesis of classical and folk music, and the formation of our national musical art.

Tural Adishirinov, a research fellow at the Literary and Cultural Environment, Folklore and Ethnography department, in his extensive speech on the topic of "Uzeyir Hajibeyli's journalism", drew attention to the fact that Uzeyir Hajibeyli was published in "Molla Nasreddin", "Irshad", "Kaspi", "Yeni Igbal", "Teraggi" and a number of other magazines and newspapers with both open and secret signatures. He drew attention to the facts that 67 secret signatures of the publicist are known to the scientific world today. The speaker also noted that Uzeyir Hajibeyli's journalism is of great importance in terms of national self-awareness and serves to awaken national thought.

Sever Ahmadova, a researcher at the of Literary and Cultural Environment, Folklore and Ethnography department, gave a report on "Uzeyir Hajibeyli's Enlightenment Views". The speaker spoke about Uzeyir Hajibeyli's use of the ideas of European enlightener philosophers and their application in his pedagogical activity in the national context, and noted that his views on education and upbringing are reflected in his entire work.

In the artistic part, examples of Uzeyir Hajibeyli's works were performed by students of Sheki Children's Music School.

The scientific and practical conference ended with the performance of the "Koroglu" overture.
