The next Scientific Council meeting was held in Sheki Regional Scientific Center

On March 17, 2025, the next Scientific Council meeting of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS was held.

The meeting was attended by 14 members of the Scientific Council, scientific workers.

Opening the meeting, General Director of Sheki RSC, Ph.D. in Physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu introduced the participants to the issues on the agenda, and the agenda was put to a vote and adopted.

The first issue on the agenda was "Approval of the new list of members of the Scientific Council of Sheki RSC of ANAS for 2025." Yusif Shukurlu reported on the new composition of the Scientific Council from 2025 as a scientific staff consisting of 15 doctors of sciences and doctors of philosophy. The Director expressed his confidence that Sheki RSC will achieve greater success and achievements in its future scientific activities.

The second and third issues on the agenda were "On the preparation and implementation of the plan of events for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the People's Poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh", "Tasks arising from the implementation of the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the celebration of the 140th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyli" dated February 3, 2025" and "On the celebration of the 140th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyli" were brought to the attention of Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs, Doctor of Philology, docent  Kamil Adishirinov. He noted that 9 events are planned to be held in 2025 regarding the above issues.

Farhad Azizov, Ph.D. in biology, made a proposal regarding the 140th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyli. He noted the need to organize an event on the topic "Uzeyir Hajibeyli's composition school and Sheki", and the proposal was put to a vote and adopted.

The next item on the agenda was "Regarding the decision of March 7, 2025 on changes in the composition of the Editorial-Publishing Council of ANAS." Scientific Secretary Vafa Atayeva reported. She introduced the council participants to the new composition of the Editorial-Publishing Council.

In the fourth item on the agenda, it was decided that Sheki RSC would join the "VII International Bakhtiyar Vahabzade Turkic World Language, History, Culture and Literature Conference" as a partner on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the great poet of the IKSAD Turkic world Bakhtiyar Vahabzade, and a scientific staff of 6 people was determined for the scientific committee of the conference.

On current issues:

A decision was made to recommend the book "Essays on the History of Azerbaijani Education" for publication.

Since the need to create a new department arose at Sheki RSC, it was decided to change the names of the other two departments and form the names of the departments as follows:

  1. Department of Literary and Cultural Environment and Folklore;
  2. Department of History and Epigraphy;
  3. Department of Archaeology and Ethnography.

Elections were held for the position of director and junior research worker in the Department of Plant Biodiversity and Genofund. Doctor of Philosophy in Biology Farhad Azizov Plant Biodiversity and Genofund were elected to the position of head of the department, and Songul Mammadova and Aygun Babazadeh were elected to the positions of junior research workers.
