On March 6, 2025, a round table dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great composer, public figure, prominent educator-pedagogue Uzeyir Hajibeyli was held in Sheki Regional Scientific Center.

Opening the event, the general director of Sheki RSC, Ph.D. on physics, docent  Yusif Shukurlu spoke about the importance of celebrating the 140th anniversary of the great artist Uzeyir Hajibeyli, who made an unparalleled contribution to the development of Azerbaijani culture, not only in terms of promoting the musical culture of our people, but also our national spirituality, and emphasized that a series of anniversary events were held in this regard throughout the country.

Then, a report by the leading scientific worker of the Department of Literary and Cultural Environment, Folklore and Ethnography, Doctor of Philology in philology, docent Kamil Adishirinov on the topic "Uzeyir Hajibeyli's educational activities" was heard.

Docent  Uzeyir Hajibeyli was not only the founder of our national opera, a talented journalist, a prominent public and political figure who held a unique place in the history of Azerbaijani public thought, but also an outstanding educator, author of textbooks for children, organizer of a music school and a conservatory.

Kamil Adishirinov brought to mind important issues such as the unity of education, education, science and culture in the progress and awakening of the nation, the creation of national revival and feelings of self-awareness, and the cultural rise of the people in the enlightenment views of the great thinker, the importance of teaching in the mother tongue as the path to national independence, and the importance of the synthesis of Eastern and Western culture. He also noted that the compilation of dictionaries related to the Azerbaijani language occupied a special place in Uzeyir Hajibeyli's creativity.
