On February 28, an event dedicated to March 1 - World Civil Defense Day, “Civil Defense is a guarantee of the safety of the population” was held in Sheki Regional Scientific Center.

The event was attended by employees of Sheki RSC and officers of the Rescue Battalion No. N of the Civil Defense troops of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, J. Ahmadli and E. Abdullayev.

First, the dear memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the heroic sons of the Motherland who rose to the peak of martyrdom in the battles for the liberation of Karabakh was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Opening the event, the Director General of Sheki RSC, Doctor of Physical Sciences, docent  Yusif Shukurlu noted that holding Civil Defense events is important for every country and every institution. The Director emphasized that relevant events and classes are held in this area continuously in Sheki RSC and according to the annual work plan, and spoke about the importance of educational work carried out in the field of organizing Civil Defense.

Then, a report was heard by Yusif Rahimov, Chief of the Civil Defense Headquarters of Sheki RSC.

Then, Javidan Ahmadli and Elmir Abdullayev, officers serving in the structure of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, made speeches. The speeches noted that the emergence of new technologies in the world in recent years has had an impact on all areas, and new approaches in the preparatory work carried out in the field of organizing Civil Defense and the taking of preventive measures to ensure maximum safety of the population were discussed.

The event ended with the demonstration of a video dedicated to Civil Defense exercises.
