On February 24, 2025, third-year students of the “Forestry and Park Management” faculty of Sheki State Regional College are in scientific and technological practice at the Department of Plant Biodiversity and Gene Fund of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS.

According to the information we received from Ilgar Seyidzade, chief agronomist of the Department of Plant Biodiversity and Gene Fund, after the students got acquainted with the Gene Fund garden, meetings were organized with the head of the department, Doctor of Philosophy in Agriculture Mubariz Pashayev. Mubariz Pashayev informed the students about the organization of nursery farming, the rules for conducting agrotechnical work, and gave advice on the necessary measures for the protection and enhancement of plant biodiversity and biodiversity in the mountain-forest belt of Sheki-Zagatala region, as well as on the protection and restoration of forests.

Later, Yusif Rahimov, an employee of Shaki RSC, told the students about anthropogenic forestry, noting that along with the forest, the fauna of the area was also enriched.

He also held discussions with the students on important topics such as the development of tourism potential in the north-west region, ecotourism, and the main essence of ecotourism. He noted that the main goal of ecotourism is to ensure the purposeful protection of nature, and the way to use an ecologically clean environment, clean water, and clean air is through ecotourism that does not harm the environment, ensures the protection of natural resources, and limits their retail use.

Extensive discussions were held on the topic.

It should also be noted that the students' internship will last for one month.
