A round table on the topic "Let's give life to waste" was held by the organization of Sheki RSC

On October 25, 2024, within the framework of the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World", a round table on the topic "Let's give life to waste" was held by the organization of Sheki RSC and with the support of Sheki Medical College.

The event was attended by employees of Sheki RSC - Scientific Secretary Vafa Atayeva, head of the gepartment of Ecological Geography, PhD  in geography Gafgaz Agabalayev, scientific workers of the department Agil Mustafayev, Aygun Ismayilova, head of the department of Ecological Biophysics Yevgeniya Bekirova, teachers and students of Sheki Medical College.

Opening the event, the director of Sheki Medical College Elmira Hajiyeva greeted the guests and participants, and thanked the organizers - especially the director of Sheki RSC, PhD on physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu expressed his gratitude, wished success in the work of the event, and spoke about the importance of its holding.

The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sung, and the souls of our martyrs who gave their lives for the integrity of our lands were commemorated.

First, the floor was given to the head of the Landscape Science department of Sheki RSC, PhD on geology- minerology  Huseyn Mustafabeyli. In his speech titled "Causes of Global Warming and Protection of the Green World", the speaker drew attention to important factors such as the causes of global climate change, the ways in which people affect the climate and microclimate, industrial and economic sectors that affect climate change, and climate changes caused by human anthropogenic activity.

Then, Gunel Suleymanova, a hygiene teacher at Sheki Medical College, spoke about the importance of greenery for people, not only as a source of oxygen, but also as a positive influence on people, neutralizing the negative impact of the fuel and energy complex on the environment, its economic efficiency as a tourism activity, and its exceptional role in normalizing the ecological situation.

Then, speaking on the topic "The Importance of Greenery for People", Günel Suleymanova, a hygiene teacher at Sheki Medical College, spoke about the fact that greening is not only a source of oxygen, but also creates a positive mood in people, ensures the neutralization of the negative impact of the fuel-energy complex on the environment, is economically efficient as a tourism activity, and plays an exceptional role in the normalization of the ecological situation.

Then, Yevgeniya Bakirova, head of the Ecological Biophysics department of Sheki RSC, spoke on the topic "The Role of Plant Resources in Human Health". The speaker noted that plants have an air-purifying role and that they guard the health of living beings, protecting them from suffocation. She also noted that plants constantly synthesize organic matter in nature, regulate the amount of oxygen gas, prevent carbon dioxide from rising to dangerous levels in the atmosphere, and conserve solar energy and make it available to living organisms.

In her speech titled "The Benefits of COP29 for Azerbaijan," Farida Babazadeh, a student at Sheki Medical College, said that COP29 will help Azerbaijan fulfill its commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, thereby improving the country's environmental situation, increasing air quality, and ultimately helping to reduce the impacts of climate change.

Minara Huseynova, a student at Sheki Medical College, spoke on the topic of "Azerbaijan's Green Energy Initiative." Referring to the opinion of experts, she noted that it is possible to provide the territory with environmentally friendly green energy by using the high renewable energy potential available in the territory of Azerbaijan.

The speaker also brought to attention that the economic development course set by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, regarding the liberated territories, considers the transformation of these territories into a "green energy" zone as one of the main directions.

The event continued with discussions.

Finally, Letters of Appreciation were presented, books published by Sheki RSC were donated to the library of Sheki Medical College, and commemorative photos were taken.
