On October 22, 2024, within the framework of the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World", a scientific-practical conference on the topic "Green economy and green city: challenges and prospects" was held, organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS and with the support of the Sheki-Zagatala Regional Education Department of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Oguz region Bujag village secondary school.
The conference was attended by employees of Sheki RSC, teachers and students of Bujag village secondary school.
Opening the event, the director of Oguz region Bujag village secondary school, Ulviyya Nazarova, welcomed the guests, expressed her satisfaction with hosting such a prestigious event, and gave the floor to Shahmar Babayev, an employee of Ecological Biophysics department of Sheki RSC.
Shahmar Babayev made a report on the topic "Modern trends and innovations in the implementation of green economy and green city concepts." He spoke about approaches that jointly guide the fields of ecology and economy, new trends and innovations related to the transition to a green economy, the advantages of the unity of the concepts of green city, green technologies and innovative agriculture, green city and smart city.
Then, the floor was given to Chinara Rustamova, a geography teacher at Bujag village secondary school. Speaking on the topic "Efficient use of mineral resources, sustainable development", the speaker said that the efficient use of mineral resources is one of the strategic issues that the state is always in the spotlight and various ways are being applied for their comprehensive use. The speaker noted the non-renewable nature of mineral resources and emphasized that they require the search for new artificial substitutes.
Vafa Atayeva, Scientific Secretary of Sheki RSC, noted that the main goal of the events organized by Sheki RSC within the framework of COP 29 is to raise awareness about the crisis caused by global climate change, and informed students about the measures that can be taken to prevent the ecological crisis.
In the artistic section, an interesting literary and artistic composition covering the theme of the green world, prepared by students of Bucaq village secondary school, was presented.
