On October 18, 2024, an event was held at Sheki Regional Scientific Center on the occasion of "Restoration of Independence Day".

Employees of Sheki RSC participated in the event.

First, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, and the dear memory of the sons of the Motherland who died for the integrity of our lands was commemorated.

Opening the event, the director of Sheki RSC, Doctor of Philosophy, docent,  Prof. Yusif Shukurlu noted that the work done in our country during the period of restoration and strengthening of our independence towards building a secular, legal and democratic state is the fruit of the unparalleled services of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and this policy is being continued in a worthy and purposeful manner by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

Then, Tural Adishirinov, a research fellow at the department of Literary and Cultural Environment, Folklore and Ethnography, spoke about Azerbaijan's gaining independence twice in a century, the opportunity to create its own sovereign state, and finally, the independence that our people have been longing for, and the belief that our independence will be eternal and unshakable.

Later, scientific secretary Vafa Atayeva and chief of the Civil Defense Headquarters of the Sheki RSC Yusif Rahimov emphasized that Azerbaijan has become a country capable of influencing the course of political and economic processes in the region where it is located, as well as significantly expanding the geography of foreign relations.

At the end of the event, a video clip on the topic of patriotism was shown.
