On March 1, 2024, an event was held in the assembly hall of Sheki RSC on the occasion of the World Civil Defense Day. Officers of rescue battalion No. N of the Civil Defense Troops of the Ministry of Emergency Situations located in Sheki, the management and employees of Sheki RSC took part in the event.

First, the dear memory of the great leader HAydar Aliyev, as well as our compatriots who were martyred for the freedom and territorial integrity of our country, was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Sheki REM's director, Ph.D. on physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu spoke about the importance of civil defense issues and the importance of celebrating the World Civil Defense Day. He noted that the International Civil Defense Day is dedicated to a specific problem every year. The International Civil Defense Organization decided that the theme of 2024 should be "Innovative technologies at the service of Civil Defense", and Yusif Rahimov, Chief of Staff for Civil Defense of Sheki RSC, gave the floor to give a detailed explanation about this.

In his speech, Yusif Rahimov congratulated the event participants on the occasion of the World Civil Defense Day, informed about the facts that reflect the need for the creation of this holiday, such as the fact that our country became a member of the International Civil Defense Organization in 1998 by HAydar Aliyev, and then showed videos prepared about the activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations offered to look.

Then, the floor was given to senior lieutenant Javidan Ahmadli, an officer of rescue battalion No. N of the Civil Defense Forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations located in Sheki. Javidan Ahmadli spoke about the role of the Civil Defense Organization, emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs closely cooperates with the International Civil Defense Organization and informed about the issues that make up the purpose of celebrating this day. He pointed out that the main task of the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the protection of the population and territories, protection from emergency situations, fires, prevention of emergency situations and elimination of consequences, and the work done in connection with the formation of a safe society system. The speaker added that in recent years, the President of the country, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, provided the civil defense system at the level of modern requirements, and in the future, the personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will perform the task set by the country's leadership with higher quality, efficiency and loyalty.

At the end of the event, rescue battalion No. N of the Civil Defense Troops of the Ministry of Emergencies, located in Sheki, was awarded the Order of Honor "for their technical support in conducting Civil Defense training in cooperation with Sheki RSC of ANAS and on the occasion of March 1 World Civil Defense Day."
