On January 19, 2024, an event was held in Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS in connection with the National Day of Mourning on January 20. First, the dear memory of National leader Haydar Aliyev and January 20 martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence. Opening the event with an introductory speech, the director of RSC Sheki, PhD in physics, docent  Yusif Shukurlu noted that the events of January 20 will never be forgotten. He added that every year on January 20 at 12:00 in the territory of the country, commemorating the dear memory of the martyrs with a minute of silence, sounding signals by ships, trains, cars, and lowering the state flags as a sign of mourning in the territory of Azerbaijan is dedicated to the martyrs of January 20 and is an example of great respect for martyrdom.

Then Rahim Hasanov, the head of the Department of History, Archeology and Epigraphy of Sheki RSC. In his speech, the speaker asked for God's mercy on our martyrs and emphasized that their blood does not remain on the ground. He said that in the last three years, we remember the January 20 tragedy with sadness, but also with pride. He noted that the reason for our sadness is clear, so is the reason for our pride. Today, as a result of the wise and visionary policy of the Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan has been restored, and not only our lands, but also our national self and national pride have been freed from the enemy.
