On January 12, 2024, Yusif Rahimov, head of Ecological Geography Department of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS, is 65 years old.

Rahimov Yusif Rasul oglu was born in 12.01.1959 in Sheki. In 1984, after graduating from the Faculty of Energy of the Azerbaijan Oil and Chemical Institute, he started working in the Specialized Mechanization Department of the Azerbaijan Oil and Chemical Plant Repair Trust in Baku. A year later, he returned to Sheki and worked as an engineer, senior engineer, head of the technical department and chief engineer at the Inter-Regional Agricultural Industrial Construction Trust.

Since 2003, he has worked his way up from a junior researcher to the position of head of "Ecological Geography" department at Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS. Since 2014, he is the head of the "Ecological geography" department of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS. Between 2017-2021 he studied at the dissertation course of the Institute of Geography named after H. Aliyev.

The main scientific research areas are ecogeography and ecotourism.

He participated in 9 international scientific conferences. He is the author of 10 scientific and 12 scientific-mass articles and the co-author of the monograph "Ecogeographic features of the landscapes of Sheki-Zagatala economic-geographic region of Azerbaijan".
