Listening of Annual reports in ANAS- Sheki Regional Academy of Sciences has been started

In November 15, 2023, the individual reports for 2023 of the scientific workers of “Ecological geography” and “Landscape” department of ANAS, Sheki Regional Scientific Center were listened.             Firstly, the scientific worker of “Landscape” department Murad Gahramanov reported about “The research of desertification in landscape zones of north-west part of Azerbaijan”. He presented the results of the acceleration of the desertification process in the territory of Oguz region as a result of natural, anthropogenic and phytocenosis effects, the complete destruction of vegetation as a result of overgrazing and farming, as well as the results obtained from the chemical analysis of soil and clay samples from the studied area.           

Later, the report of the "Ecological Geography" department was listened. Gafgaz Agabalayev, a senior researcher of the department, doctor of philosophy in geography, reported on "Conducting research on the ecosystem of the northwestern region of Azerbaijan, determining ways to effectively use the potential of ecotourism".  He noted the activation of linear and surface erosion processes as a result of natural and anthropogenic effects based on the monitoring conducted in the surrounding areas along the coast of the Dashagil River of Oguz region, as well as in the surrounding areas of the villages of Yagublu, Bujag, Mukhas, Bash Dashagil, as well as in the area of Damarchin tributary of the Kish village of Sheki region. He also emphasized that the most important result of 2023 in the direction of studying the potential of ecotourism in the area of the Kish River, the information about the Khudgar and Meshabashi waterfalls on the Damarchin tributary of the Kish River, was included in the "Wikipedia" free encyclopedia at different times.    

Scientific worker of the “Ecological geography” department Aygun Ismayilova reported on the theme “Searching about ecosystem of Oguz region and determination of using productive ways of ecotourism in the region”.

The employees of the two departments noted that, the gained important results published in different local and international scientific journals.
