shrem.az reports with reference to the science.gov.az website that the president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli was unanimously elected an honorary member of Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences.

Academician Arif Hashimov, acting First Vice-President of ANAS, brought this information to the attention of the Presidium.

In this regard, ANAS said that a letter of thanks will be addressed to Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences on behalf of the Presidium.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences for the trust shown. He emphasized that the steps taken by President Ilham Aliyev and President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev in the direction of the development of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan relations gave impetus to the expansion of relations between our countries in the scientific sphere. He pointed out that in April of this year, within the framework of President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Astana, the "Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of science between National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was signed. The head of ANAS said that the mentioned document gave impetus to the development of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan scientific relations.
