Shrem.az reports with reference to science.gov.az website that the President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, academician Isa Habibbayli addressed a congratulatory letter to the head of the institution, professor Hasan Mandal, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of the Republic of Turkey (TUBITAK).

In the letter it is read:

  "Dear Mr. Hasan Mandal!

I heartily congratulate you on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, which you have successfully led.

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, which you are the head of, has made an unparalleled contribution to the revival of the economy of the brotherly country with many projects implemented by supporting fundamental and applied scientific research over the past 60 years. Also, the formation of a knowledge society in Turkey, maintaining the reputation of science and scientists at all times, supporting young researchers and continuing the tradition of keeping scientific schools alive by encouraging them have also been the main directions of TUBITAK's activity.

All this played an important role in the recognition of TÜBİTAK as one of the world's leading science centers not only in Turkey, but also outside its borders, including in Azerbaijan.                   

It is gratifying that within the framework of cooperation between ANAS and TUBITAK, which began in 2013, 4 joint competitions were announced and scientific projects were implemented on priority topics in line with the challenges of the modern era.

In recent years, especially after Azerbaijan's Karabakh - Homeland War, the relations between our countries have risen to the level of strategic alliance thanks to the friendly relations of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. All this creates a wide opportunity for further deepening of scientific relations between ANAS and TUBITAK. Currently, cooperation relations between our institutions are being developed in the direction of including the scientific journals of the Academy in the Dargi Park electronic database register of ULAKBIM under TUBITAK, organizing a joint centralized electronic library, as well as expanding relations in the field of seismology.

Dear Mr. Hasan Mandal!

In recent years, your ability to lead the institution has a great role and importance in further increasing the reputation of TUBITAK in the world.

Once again, as an outstanding scientist and a great science organizer, I personally congratulate you, the team you lead and the scientists of the brotherly country on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of TUBITAK on behalf of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, and I wish you greater success in your activities.
