Shrem.az reports with reference to the website www.science.gov.az that a scientific conference on "National leader Heydar Aliyev and the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan" was held in the Nakhchivan branch of ANAS under the organization of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology.

In the reports, information was given about the distribution of our historical territories between Russia and Iran in the 19th century, especially the Republic of Ararat, which was created in the 20s of the last century on the ancient lands of Azerbaijan, and our lands that were given to Armenians against the will of the people in the following period.

It was noted that the visionary leader Heydar Aliyev, while working in responsible positions, as well as during both periods of his leadership of our country, was particularly sensitive to the issue of territorial integrity, he always kept this issue in mind, and he resolutely prevented the groundless territorial claims of Armenians even during the Soviet period.

The reports also talked about the reforms carried out by the National Leader in the field of army building, the work he did to train highly professional military personnel and the current results of those measures. The views expressed by the Great Leader at the Lisbon and Budapest summits regarding the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan were also brought to attention.

It was emphasized that the decisive position of Heydar Aliyev was reflected in his talks with world leaders, in his speeches on the tribunes, in the agenda of various international organizations regarding the protection and restoration of our territorial integrity. It is the Azerbaijani realities and historical truths that Heydar Aliyev brought to the world that have borne fruit today. The Great Leader Heydar Aliyev managed to fit the work of decades into a short period of time, attracted foreign investors to the country by expanding international relations, and became the guarantor of the future development of Azerbaijan.
