A seminar on the theme of "The role of Shusha literary environment in the development of Azerbaijani and Turkish culture" was held by the organization of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS

On 08.06.2023, a seminar on "The role of Shusha literary environment in the development of Azerbaijani and Turkish culture" (in the context of literary meetings) was held in the central library of Sheki CLS named after I.S. Nakam with the organization of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS. In order to ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the declaration of "Shusha city as the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2023", the Presidium of ANAS decided on December 8, 2022 No. 22/1 dated January 16, 2023 and it was part of the proposals on the "Plan of Actions" approved by decision No. 2/2.                    

At the seminar, employees of "Folklore and handicrafts", "Historical Heritage and Ethnography", "Public Relations" departments of Sheki RSC, as well as the central library named after I.S. Nakam, teachers of secondary schools No. 10 and 18, ASAN service volunteers, students of Sheki Regional Medical College participated.

Opening the event, D. Sh. Yagubova, the head of the "Service and subscription" department of the central library of Sheki CLS named after I.S. Nakam, expressed her gratitude to the management of Sheki RSC for organizing the scientific seminar in their institution and wished success to the work of the event.     

Then the head of "Folklore and crafts" department I. A. Yusifova expressed deep gratitude to the management of Sheki CLS for the fertile conditions created and made a speech on "Shusha Literary Assemblies: Functions and Interactions". She gave information about the literary environment of that period, literary meetings, music meetings, singers' meeting, as well as new type of modern schools, and the compilation of textbooks.

Later, the leading researcher of "Folklore and handicrafts" department of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS, associate professor Kamil Adishirinov made an interesting report on "Literary and scientific activity of Mir Mohsun Navvab". He gave information about the ideas and directions of the "Majlisi Faramushan Khamushan" literary assembly led by Mir Mohsun Navvab, ghazal literature, lamentation literature, and also emphasized that Mir Mohsun Navvab was a tazkirahist, pedagogue, visionary, and geographer.         

Then Tarana Abdullayeva, a researcher of "Folklore and handicrafts" department of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS, made a speech on "Life and creativity of Abdulla bey Asi". In her speech she gave information about Abdulla bey Asi, one of the members of "Majlisi-Faramushan", was born in Shusha, received his first education in a madrasah, was the grandson of Gasim bey Zakir, was a follower of Nizami and Fuzuli traditions, as well as his literary heritage, lyrics, simple and clear language, and artistic creativity the wide use of descriptive and expressive means.

Later, Tural Adishirinov, a junior researcher of "Folklore and handicrafts" department of Sheki Regional Scientific Center, gave a speech on "Creative relations between Natavan and Kamina". He gave information about three respected poets of that time - Ashiq Pari, Natavan, Fatma khanim Kamina, and also emphasized Fatma Kamina's active participation in two literary meetings, their life and creativity, especially the creation of ghazals.

At the end, Elshan Abdurahmanov, the scientific secretary of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS, expressed his deep gratitude to the management of the central library named after I.S. Nakam of CLS and the participating guests, and noted that these literary gatherings have raised an outstanding generation.

The lectures were listened to by the participants of the seminar with interest and interesting discussions were held on the topics.
