Annual report about scientific and scientific-organizational activity of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS for 2021 was adopted

On February 11, 2022, at the meeting of the Presidium of ANAS, the Annual report of ANAS about scientific and scientific-organizational activity of Sheki RSC for 2021 research year was heard.

The report was presented by the director of Sheki RSC of ANAS, PhD on Physics, docent Yusif Shukurlu. He noted that in 2021, scientific research was carried out in 8 departments of Sheki Regional Scientific Center in 6 new priority areas approved by the Presidium of ANAS in 2020. In the presentation it was informed about the topics implemented separately for each department, the obtained results, the measures taken to implement them, successes and achievements, and the most important scientific results.

In the presentation it was informed about the decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers on the implementation of orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in 2021, as well as state programs, research work assigned to Sheki RSC of ANAS, as well as orders of the President of ANAS and the Presidium.

In the presentation it was shown, in 2021, a total of 66 scientific articles were published in Sheki RSC and abroad, 6 of them with impact factor, 19 articles in foreign journals, 34 international, local and foreign conferences and symposiums, 3 books were published (2 scientific and 1 scientific-publicist), received a patent, 1 person defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Yusif Shukurlu also informed about the existing problems and shortcomings.

The presentation on the report was accepted by the members of the Presidium of ANAS and the scientific results obtained in 2021 in Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS were approved and it was decided to include them in the annual report of ANAS. At the same time, the decision of the Presidium recommended that scientific research planned for 2021-2024 in Sheki RSC give priority to the development of topics aimed at the national strategy of state programs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the priorities of the National Development Program.

The decision also instructed the management of the Department of Earth Sciences of ANAS and the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences to allow the employees of Sheki RSC, other scientific research institutes of ANAS to jointly perform relevant activities. Also, in connection with the training, they should continue joint activities on the establishment of a Distance Learning Center in Sheki RSC, the integration of science and education, the popularization of science with Sheki branch of the Azerbaijan Pedagogical University.

After the discussions, a report on the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of Sheki RSC for 2021 was adopted and approved by the decision of the RH No. 5/2. The director of Sheki RSC, PhD on Physics Yusif Shukurlu, thanked the members of the Presidium and invited them to the 50th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of Sheki RSC planned for this year. The invitation was warmly accepted.
