On 3 April, 2017 VIII International Sericulture Conference took action with the organization of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, BACSA, Sheki Regional Scientific Center. In the conference 44 delegates participated from 9 countries.

        First of all, the participants were acquainted with the exhibition of silk made products- kelaghais, tekelduz knitting, batik works, and souvenirs, the information about new silkworm sorts and their hybrids gotten in SRSC in recent years.

       The chairman of the organizing committee, the director of SRSC Yusif Shukurlu opened the conference, greeted them and invited the first deputy of head of the executive power Hasan Hasanov for speaking. Sir Hasan Hasanov greeted guests and participants in old Sheki land, wished good luck to the organizers of the conference and participants. Then the president of BACSA, director of Bulgarian Agricultural Academy of Sciences, prof. Dr. Panomir Tzenov performed about the essence of the conference. He was grateful to the participants and said that this cooperation would continue in the future.

      In the conference the head of department of Earth Sciences ANAS, academician Fakhraddin Gadirov and the director of Genetic Resources Institution, associate member of the academy Zeynal Akbarov performed and wished good luck to the conference participants.

      After it, plenary reports began. For the first day, 18 reports sounded. Azerbaijan, Romania, China, Thailand, Cuba, Turkey, Georgia, Tajikistan delegates were memorable with their colourful and interesting performances.

      On April 04 conference participants visited Gakh and Zagatala regions for the reason of looking at the new mulberry gardens.
