Regional seminar was held in the meeting hall of Sheki Regional Scientific Center with the organization of Science Development Fund near the president of the Azerbaijan Republic, ANAS, ANAS SRSC, in the frame of the project of “Preparing innovative events and agro-ecological model on the development of agrarian field in the image of north-west part of Azerbaijan” in the theme of “Development of sericulture with modern innovative technologies in Azerbaijan”. In the seminar the specialists on agrarian issues of Sheki, Zagatala, Oguz executive power apparatus, employees of region Agriculture Department, experienced farmers on Sericulture field and employees of Sheki Regional Scientific Center, also project performers attended.

      Assistant director on scientific works of SRSC, PhD on biology F.Azizov opened the meeting, greeted the participants, informed about the project, its purpose and job, then director of SRSC, PhD on physics, doc. Y.H.Shukurlu pointed important importance of sericulture for our republic in his report on the theme of “The demands about ecological pure silk production”.

       Head of “Selection of mulberry silkworm” department, PhD on biology G.Bakirov reported about “Economically efficient sort and hybrids on mulberry silkworm gained in SRSC”.

       Scientific worker of “Molecular biophysics” department Yevgenia Bakirova reported on the theme of “The first researches for feeding mulberry silkworm with artificial feed in Azerbaijan”.

       The delegate of ANAS, the Institute of Genetic Resources, PhD on biology A.Memmedov reported about “Learning of mulberry silkworm with molecular genetic methods”.

       The specialists of Sheki Agriculture office of Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan S.Abdurahmanov informed about “Growing introduced mulberry saplings in Sheki region”.

       All the reports were listened by the participants, exchanged ideas, and each offer was noted.

       According to the offers it was considered expedient the importance of joint action in the field of growing mulberry saplings, mulberry silkworm, sericulture, cocoon production in the future.
