On June 20, at the Institute of Literature named Nizami "Shah Ismail Safavi: The presentation of “Collection of historical diplomatic documents" book was held.

The vice-president of ANAS and director of the institute, academician Isa Habibbayli spoke about the historical significance of the book. He noted that scientific editor of the book is the head of the Azerbaijani Republic Presidential Administration, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev: "This valuable collection begins with the article of ‘In the light of the political legal historical documents of Shah Ismail Khatai’ written by academician Ramiz Mehdiyev with higher civic spirit.

Speaking about scientific-theoretical importance of this article I.Habibbayli noted that, beside being a scientist, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev, is one of the main figures ensuring management of our republic, and outstanding state figure who has a great practice in higher management structure of the country. " Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev causes us to think with his  extremely accurate, prescient ideas every time. It is not true to limit the importance of the article with Shah Ismail Khatai, it must also be regarded as a mirror of our spiritual being in the sixteenth century".

Academician Isa Habibbayli noted that, by means of the presented book the materials – diplomatic letters, fatwas and decrees collected from the different libraries of Iran and Turkey and also from manuscript funds are presented in our native language for the first time. Generally, 53 historical-diplomatic documents were collected in the book. 3 of them are the decree of the ruler, 1 is a fatwa, 49 are  different content letters.

"Shah Ismail Khatai is one of the outstanding figures, exclusive images of Azerbaijan history and statehood. He is truly a man who gave spirit to the statehood, authority and management of Azerbaijan. Shah Ismail fought for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. An model of Shah Ismail Khatai will always be an example in different periods of Azerbaijan history". At the end of speech, academician Isa Habibbayli noted that this book will clarify partly to the solution of the serious problems about Shah Ismail I for years in Azerbaijan history.

Later Vasim Mammadaliyev’s lecture “Historical diplomacy and modernity” was listened.

The employee of the Presidential Administration of the Azerbaijan Republic Eldar Amirov, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, PhD on philology Govher Bakhishaliyeva, assistant director of the Institute of Manuscripts, PhD on philology Pasha Kerimov, branch manager of the Institute of Philosophy and Law, professor Hasan Alibeyli,  writer and publicist Orxan Aras valued scientific importance of the new edition witch assumed urgency, and spoke about the significance of the researches in this direction for statehood history and chronicle of Azerbaijan.
