A scientific-practical conference named “The word bridge of history” was held in Sheki

On June 9 a scientific-practical conference named ”The word bridge of history” was held in Sheki Regional Scientific Center with the organization of ANAS Sheki Regional Scientific Center and with the support of Sheki, Oguz and Balakan departments of Azerbaijan Writers Union.

At the ceremony more than 60 poets and writers from Sheki, Balakan, Zagatala, Gakh, Oguz and Gabala regions participated. 

In the scientific-theoretical conference an exhibition consisting of the books of the writers published in different years was organized. In the exhibition the authors’ poetry, prose, literary-critical works were demonstrated.     

At the conference the dear memory of our sons who heroically martyred for the independence, territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence. At the same time the memory of the writer Yusif Shukurlu who was the prominent figure of Azerbaijan literature.

The director of ANAS Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS, doctor of Philological Sciences, docent opened the ceremony and spoke about the role of region literature in the preserving and development of national-cultural heritage. He noted that such events contribute the reviving of literal environment and enlarging creativity relations.   

At the ceremony the chief of Sheki department of Azerbaijan Writers Union, poet and researcher Vagif Aslan spoke about “Sheki literal environment and development tendency of literal process in the context of department literature of Azerbaijan”. In the article the role of Sheki literary environment in the development of Azerbaijani literature and the main directions of the modern literary process were analyzed. 

Vagif Aslan stressed that folklore heritage, epos, ashiq creature, bayatis and rich oral traditions are an important source of modern literal creature, our writers and poets, benefiting from these resources, keep the national spirit alive and try to reconcile it with the artistic and aesthetic demands of the modern era. 

The chief of Balakan department of Azerbaijan Writers Union Almaniz Alakbarli in his report named “Development dynamics of artistic creativity in Gakh, Zagatala, Balakan literary environment dealt with Gakh, Zagatala, Balakan literary traditions and modern creativity process. He noted that when we look through the development history of Gakh, Zagatala and Balakan literary environments we can notice the role of the men in forming national literal thought. He said that in their creativity love of motherland, moral-national values, human and nature relationship as well as public problems reflected widely.               

The chief of Oguz department of AWU Vusal Oguz reported on the theme “Literary process in Ismayilli, Gabala and Oguz regions: its history, modern situation and development perspectives”.

At the end of his speech, Vusal Oguz put forward a number of proposals for further revitalizing the literary process in the regions. He emphasized the importance of holding book fairs with the participation of publishing houses, organizing meetings of famous poets and writers with readers in the regions, as well as identifying young people distinguished by their creative abilities and conducting master classes for them. The speaker also noted the importance of strengthening cooperation between literary associations, organizing creative evenings and almanacs, promoting local authors in the press and on literary platforms, as well as supporting talented writers in becoming members of the Azerbaijan Writers Union.

Within the framework of the conference, members of the Azerbaijan Writers Union representing various regions made speeches and exchanged views on the current problems of regional literature, development prospects, expanding literary relations and enriching the creative environment.

The participants of the event valued the conference such as an important event in the literary-cultural life of the region.

At the end of the event, the poets participated in a poetry hour, reciting examples of their work.
