An international conference on "Economic Growth and Social Welfare" dedicated to the 60th anniversary of ANAS Institute of Economics was held on October 18, 2018.

At the conference, the staff of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS took part. PhD, docent QM Bakirov, scientific worker A.G.Mustafayev and scientific worker Z.Yu.Sukurova made an article entitled "The role of Shaki-Zagatala economic region in the development of barberry and silkworming in Azerbaijan and territorial organization in Azerbaijan". The article focuses on the development of this area in the region, which helps to eliminate unemployment, to ensure employment, improve material wellbeing, and thus to address socio-economic problems.
