On November 17, 2023, the scientific staff of the "The mulberry silkworm selection" and "Plant biodiversity and gene fund" departments of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS listened to individual reports for 2023. Firstly, Agil Mustafayev, scientific worker of the "Mulberry Silkworm Breeding" department, reported on the case "Pasporting of patented breeds and hybrids in the "Mulberry Silkworm Breeding" department. As a result, he said that compared to the corresponding control hybrid, the economic efficiency of the regionalized breeds and hybrids due to the yield of wet cocoons from 1 box of grain is higher than last year in the hybrids of ŞZEM-4x GE-143, GE-143x ŞZEM4 and GE-143, ŞZEM4 breeds. After listening to the report, it was advised to adapt the results to the name of the case.

The report of Zarintaj Shukurova, scientific worker of "The mulberry silkworm selection" department, on "Continuing research on wild silkworm" was heard. It was noted that during the spring-spring feeding season of 2023, 2,500 high-quality S. pyri silkworm cocoons were obtained indoors. The cocoons were easily opened as a result of heat treatment in a pure water-based solution of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate in equal amounts of each. Silkiness percentage of cocoons was 11.43%, fibroin was 77%. Pup contains 52.50% crude protein, 27.89% fat; 100 g of oil was found to contain 25 mg of alpha-tocopherol. X-ray fluorescent analysis revealed 25 macro and microelements in S. pyri pupa, and it was determined that the relative amount of elements such as K, Mg, Na, Ca, Al was higher. As a result of autumn-winter monitoring in 2023, 150 wrapped cocoons of S. pyri were recorded in the Bash Shabalid biogeocenosis of SRSC of ANAS (41°18′12′N – 47°07′1′E).

Aliya Kanjenbekova, junior researcher of the Mulberry Silkworm selection Department, presented the results of the creation of new hybrids and lines, the more productive hybrids taken from different geographical environments, in her report on the work "Determining the biological indicators of introduced and local breeds to create new lines".

Ilgar Seyidzadeh, chief agronomist of the "Biodiversity of plants and gene fund" department, in his report on "Collection, comprehensive study, storage, and efficient use of seeded and seeded fruit samples belonging to folk selection varieties distributed in the territory of Gakh region", a total of 10 types of seeded fruits of different names taken from Gakh region that the biological properties of the samples are being studied, and at the same time, in the area of Sheki RSC.

The employees of both departments noted that the obtained important scientific results were published in various local and international scientific journals.
