shrem.az reports with reference to the website science.gov.az, the next agenda of General meeting of ANAS was affirmed and the discussions were made to define the date for holding the next General meeting of ANAS.

The president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbayli noted that in recent times, multifaceted reforms are being implemented in Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, conditioned by the scientific challenges of the modern world on the one hand, and the socio-economic and cultural-spiritual development of the country on the other hand.

The director of ANAS noted that these reforms are the reconstruction of international scientific cooperation relations on national-ideological bases, the more effective use of the potential of scientific personnel, the provision of closer participation of science in the implementation of the socio-economic, cultural, and especially ideological policy of the state, the new science of the normative-legal base of science adaptation to management mechanisms, organization of popularization and promotion of science based on new innovative criteria, development of electronic science, optimization of the structure of scientific institutions, etc. covers directions.               

"Many issues have been discussed and relevant decisions have been made in the Presidium, which is the main collegial executive body of ANAS, for the implementation of reforms in the mentioned directions. However, according to the Statute of ANAS, the right to make appropriate decisions on a number of issues, especially structural changes, and to file petitions before state bodies belongs to the authority of the General Assembly of ANAS", academician Isa Habibbayli pointed out, and holding the next General Assembly of ANAS said that the necessity arose.

Taking into account the above, it was decided to hold the next General meeting of ANAS on November 29, 2023, and the agenda of the meeting was approved.
