The article entitled "Ecological problems in the basins of the Kish and Shin rivers" by Yusif Rahimov, head of the Department of Ecological Geography of Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS, and Gafgaz Agabalayev, Ph.D. on geography published in 2023 issue of “Science and Life” journal of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. In the article, as a result of a comprehensive study of frequently recurring flood events in recent years, the damage caused to the ecosystem by strong erosion of mountain rocks, accumulation of easily washed debris on the slopes, presence of steep and steep slopes, and other natural factors was investigated. The article also reflects important issues such as the difficulty of restoring the protection of the environment and ecosystem destroyed as a result of excessive cattle grazing in the summer pastures located in the subalpine and alpine belts of Sheki, Oguz, Gakh, Gabala regions.
