The director of ANAS Sheki RSC, PhD on physics, docent Y.H. Shukurlu spoke about the essence of the bloody events and aggressive policy committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis historically. He noted that the victory gained as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War was a necessary response to the historically unjust policy against our people along with the liberation of our lands from occupation.

Head of "Historical Heritage and Ethnography" department of ANAS Sheki RSC Rahim Hasanov, in his report named "Events leading to the March 31 genocide and the essence of the genocide policy" informed about the characteristics of ethnic policy pursued during Tsarist Russia, Armenian patronage, and the events in the South Caucasus after the 1917 revolution. He noted that the policy of genocide continues in North Azerbaijan as well as in South Azerbaijan. As a continuation of this abominable policy, he informed the participants on the basis of historical facts that a policy of genocide was initiated in North-West Azerbaijan by inciting ethnic and religious divisions, but this policy failed.

At the end of the event, the memory of the victims of the genocide was commemorated with a minute of silence.
