The bioextract that the scholars of ANAS Sheki Regional Scientific Center obtained from hazelnut shell had been valued as an invention by the experts of the Patent and Trademark Examination Center of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and it was decided to grant a patent to the invention on insuring vital needs of human. The authors of the invention are the director of ANAS SRSC, PhD on physics Yusif Shukurlu, deputy director on scientific affairs, PhD on biology Farhad Azizov and the head of “Biochemistry of the plants” department, PhD on biology Zarbali Khalilov.

The invention belongs to pharmacology, food and light industries, especially obtained from hazelnut shell, in powder form based on waste-free technology.

The essence of the invention is that it was introduced dry bioextract in powder form from hazelnut shell as a means of treatment and prevention against the violation of the microelement balance of the body, rich in micro and macro elements, diuresis, cardiovascular diseases and anemia. At the same time, he bioextract contents 34,50% important elements like K, Na, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Al ,Si ,P, S ,Ba, Sr, Ti micro and macro elements.

It was defined exploring biologically active substances of the extracts that there were 85,4% biologically active substances, and among them there were phenol compounds with high antioxidant, anticancer and antibacterial properties –  2-methoxy phenol(C7H8O2),  2,3-dihydrobenzofuran (C8H8O), 2-methoxy-4-vinylphenol (C9H10O2),  vanillin (C8H8O3), 2-methoxy-4-propyl-phenol (C10H14O2), 4 - ((1E) -3-hydroxy-1-propenyl) -2-methoxyphenol (C10H12O3), dibutylphthalate (C16H22O4), 1-naphthalenamine (C10H9N), 24-methyl-5-cholesterol-ol (C28H48O), γ-sitesterol (C29H50O), stiqmast-4-en-3-one (C29H48O), 2,3-dihydro -3,5-dihydroxy-6-methyl-4H-pyran-4-one (C6H8O4), trans-4-Fluoro-4 '- (methylttio) chalcone substances (C16H13FOS).

Having biological active substances and micro and macro elements in the bioextract enables that it should be used as an effective tool in the treatment and prevention of many diseases.  Due to the fact that the bioextract contains aromatic, flavoring and coloring substances, it is possible to use it as flavoring and food additive, as well as dyeing silk, wool and cotton threads.

As a result of the research an optimal regime was defined using 70% ethyl alcohol and ordinary water, applying two-stage extraction, mineral elements and biologically active substances, coloring pigments and flavorings for obtaining rich extract.

The project for application of the invention and commercialization of the patent was made and sent to ANAS High Technology Park.
