On June 24, 2019 the agreement about creative scientific and technical cooperation was signed between Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Veterinary Scientific Research Institute and Sheki Regional Scientific Center of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The agreement is suitable to the cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and ANAS. The agreement consists of realizing future development of scientific attitude between the two scientific institutions, accelerating scientific-technical development, increasing the level of scientific-research works on sericulture, and cocoon and raw silk production.   

As an agreement the cooperation of these two institutions will be realized in the following directions:

1) Scientific-technical and technological information exchange; 2) Exchange of genetic resources of mulberry silkworm; 3) Doing the work together with the mulberry silkworm and scientifical-research (selection).

These are expected results from the cooperation.

1) Genefund of mulberry silkworm will be rich; 2) The efficiency of selection works for creation of more productive sort and hybrids of mulberry silkworm; 3) Productive level and competition capacity of mulberry silkworm sort and hybrids will be increased; 4) Methods and methodology of scientific research works in sericulture will be improved; 5) Integration of science field and production will be strengthened, in market economy, the optimization of the efficiency of cocoon production and raw silk production will be strengthened.
