On February 8, 2019 scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 80^th anniversary of world-renowned historian scientist, political figure, fanatic of Azerbaijan nation Yagub Mahmudov who is devoted to Heydar Aliyev's statehood policy was held in ANAS Sheki Regional Scientific Center.     

      The conference was opened by director of SRSC, PhD on physics-mathematics Yusif Shukurlu. He focused attention to the scientific- social values of the scientist’s action during both the Soviet period and independence years. At the same time he explained the action of Yagub Mahmudov as the director of History Institute. Y.Shukurlu spoke about Yagub Mahmudov’s tireless and courageous activity in disclosing the disgusting policy of the Armenians and their patrons against Azerbaijani people.

     At the conference the reports about the activity of Yagub Mahmudov were presented. Head of “Historical Heritage and Ethnography” department of the center, doctorate of History Institute Rahim Hesenov presented the theme about “Scientific action of academician Yagub Mahmudov in independence years”, scientific worker of the department, PhD on history Akif Memmedli “Services of Yagub Mahmudov in the development of Azerbaijan statehood”, another scientific worker of the department dissertate of Archeology and Ethnography Institute Elshen Abdurahmanov “Yagub Mahmudov’s scientific, pedagogical and social action in Soviet period”.

   The participants of the conference wished Yagub Mahmudov long and healthy life, success in his scientific work.
